QA Automation Engineer – Carlsbad, CA

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform activities and operations related to quality assurance for the production QA team
  • Ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards set forth by the team
  • Develop and run automated test cases (functional, performance and system regression tests)
  • Participate in the software delivery process by reviewing functional and design specifications, authoring and reviewing test cases
  • Produce high-value/real-world test cases based on a thorough and deep understanding of the system, sub-components, and use cases
  • Coordinate efforts and communication with the developers and other team members to ensure resolution of defects, and managing (triage) defects in the bug tracking system that are identified through the QA process
  • Actively participate and/or commit in the execution of tasks required to meet the milestones and deliverables set by the SCRUM team throughout the release cycle
  • Monitor production system issues and provide timely response and QA support for making necessary patches and updates

Qualifications:

  • Four-year technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years recent experience in software quality assurance
  • Understanding of the entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Able to work well both independently and with a highly collaborative team to ensure quality
  • Experience building acceptance/functional automated tests for white-box and/or black-box testing
  • Experience with configuration management/version control applications e.g. Perforce, Git
  • Experience working with database systems in either a quality assurance or development capacity
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools and analyzing logs using common UNIX/Linux utilities
  • Deep understanding and/or experience of internet technologies (HTTP/HTTPs, DNS, TCP/IP) and highly complex multi-tiered commerce platforms
  • Experience with troubleshooting difficult production issues e.g. memory leaks, networking problems, intermittent failures, etc. across the stack

Preferred:

  • Experience in Agile / Scrum methodology
  • Experience with multi-tiered commerce platforms, payment processing, and DB systems
  • Experience with test automation development and tools
  • Experience testing web services/APIs such as: REST, SOAP
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical areas desired:
  • RDBMS and NoSQL Systems: Oracle, PL/SQL, Cassandra, MongoDB

Web Analytics Manager San Diego California

Web Analytics manager needs to be a SME on advanced digital analytics implementations, conducting data analysis, interpreting user behavior, developing reporting interfaces and presenting insights to the team and clients. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and effectively communicate best practices for analyzing online behaviors, configuring and implementing digital analytics technologies, interpreting data and clearly presenting insights with an informed point of view.
  • Educate and coach clients and teams to actively identify opportunities for improvement according to business objectives
  • Make recommendations to improve digital marketing effectiveness by analyzing data to maximize sales, profitability and growth
  • Mentor team members by showing leadership in the areas of strategy, problem solving, work ethic and quality
  • Institute and conduct internal reviews and feedback for team member client deliverables
  • Heavily influence department process improvements for improved efficiency and quality of work
  • Develop analytics frameworks for understanding user behavior and marketing effectiveness (user growth, engagement, lead generation, abandonment, campaign ROI, segmentation)
  • Recommend and implement the right set of tools that will allow clients to leverage their date including use of tracking tools, tag management, user interface assessment tools, conversion and site optimization testing methods, and other tools fit to deliver on driving and acting on insights into the business
  • Capture and display data in clear, simple dashboards that link back to activities of the team and can be easily adopted by the organization, leading ultimately to business growth

Management Responsibilities: 

  • Manage execution and delivery of web analytics projects
  • Determine how web analytics project goals will be achieved via discovery and exploration
  • Set expectations with client and teams around the experimental and evolutionary design of web analytics solutions including the need for ongoing discovery
  • Create value throughout web analytics project cycles, not just upon project completion (via quick wins and incremental delivery)
  • Work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders, partners and vendors
  • Deliver adaptable, scalable and useable analytics solutions
  • Promote and train users on best practices with web analytics technology

Skills and Requirements: ​

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant technical or business discipline (marketing, statistics, human computer interaction, etc)
  • 5+ years of digital analytics experience, highly desirable if complimented with agency experience
  • Direct experience working on advanced digital analytics implementations and conducting on-domain analyses
  • Expert knowledge of digital analytics tools and techniques including analysis of data using industry leading tools
  • This is a client facing position that requires some travel and a good deal of flexibility
  • Authorization to work in the US required
